Where do we even begin?
I’ve been on a two year (hello, again!) hiatus, trying to digest the unrelenting horrors of the world. I wanted to give you all articles on COVID, vaccines, and the intricacies of navigating it all when half the country won’t even acknowledge it exists. Not to mention the intersectionality with race, class, ability, gender, and all other facets of identity.
It’s a lot! But we’ll get there.
So, let’s take it post-by-post, day-by-day. This is my welcome back post. Welcome back, me, to writing. Welcome back lovely viewers, I missed our chats. Welcome back everyone to a world that’s unrecognizable in so many ways and recognizable in some of the worst.
There’s been a massive failure in science education, communication, and community-oriented work. There’s been substantial regression regarding so many human rights. Selfishness and ignorance has been on full display, and it’s hard to do anything but watch in abject terror. Or self-protective apathy.
I mean, even the ocean was on fire, and I don’t even think it was news for more than a few hours because everything just seems so bad!
How do we reconcile living in a world that seems to be crumbling around us?
Needless to say, I’m tired. Burnt out (much like the ocean). Surviving. Day-to-day. Like so many of us. And I just want to say I see you, I hear you, I’m here for you. This shit sucks, and hope is hard to come by. But we need some hope.
So, let’s dive in and talk about it all, shall we?
Stay tuned.
